ZenIRC
Description: ZenIRC is a full-featured scriptable IRC client for the EMACS text editor. It runs on any OS where EMACS supports sockets. It is compatible with GNU Emacs 18.59 and above, and all versions of XEmacs. ZenIRC is Free Software. ZenIRC supports multiple irc sessions in separate buffers. There is a rudimentary command syntax for use within those sessions, but most user preferences and extensions are written and configured in emacs-lisp. Most features are implemented via module extensions. For example, DCC (Direct Client-to-Client) can be enabled at the user's option.

EPIC
Description: EPIC4 is a new direction in ircII development. No longer is EPIC 100% backwards compatable with ircII, but instead we have chosen to find those things where compatability is undesirable, and fix them. No gratuitous incompatabilities have been added, but lots of new code has been added to make EPIC the best ircII client we could make.
EPIC4 is derived directly from EPIC3, which was itself derived from IRC-II which is currently maintained by Matthew Green, and includes in whole all the additions included in the "plus" clients by Jeremy Nelson and all of the modifications in the "mod" clients by Jake Khuon. EPIC is currently maintained by EPIC Software Labs (ESL), comprised of Jeremy Nelson, Jake Kuhon, Robert Chady, and a cast of a dozen others. It will definitely work on Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux, Digital Unix, SCO ODT 5, AIX, etc.

iroffer

Description: iroffer is a fileserver for irc (commonly referred to as a DCC bot). It uses the DCC feature of irc to send files to other users. iroffer will connect to an irc server and let people request files from it. Unlike similar programs, iroffer is not a script, it is a standalone executable written entirely in c from scratch with high transfer speed and effeciency in mind. iroffer has been known to reach 2MByte/sec or higher bandwidth usage when multiple transfers are occuring at the same time

BitchX
